ANTIRETROVIRAL DRUG HOLIDAYS

In the Papua New Guinea Post Courier 8 November 2011 is a report of HIV sufferers running out of ARV drugs in the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea.

We are told Dr Petronia Kaim that at least 10 people are on a drug holiday. She explained that there are certain concentrations of drugs in the body and a patient can go without a particular drug for 7 up to 21 days.

There was once a belief that ARV could be taken stop-start-stop-start. Several years ago, the Australian magazine Positive Living reported an experiment in the world that had to be stopped when those HIV sufferers in the experiment died.

STORY OF POSITIVE LIVING

HIV/AIDS: FAMILY POSITIVE LIVING
Port Moresby, National Capital District, Papua New Guinea
The Positive Living message has been the work of many people over many centuries. It is family based as the main strategy in this country to reduce the infection with HIV/AIDS and to help those infected. The message has been promoted in Papua New Guinea by the founder Bruce Copeland amid the hostility of Australian advisors who wanted to push for a message of individual rights without focus on accompanying responsibilities. These were the gay and lesbian advisors now working for the United Nations. The family Positive Living message is a world message based on family love and caring. It has become the message of the churches. . Please make contact.
