EARLY VIOLENCE AND MENTAL DISORDERS

People should remember being pushed, slapped and hit as children are more likely to be diagnosed with depression, anxiety and personality disorders later in life.

Canadian researchers whose results were published in the journal Paediatrics estimated that 2 to 7 per cent of mental disorders might be due to punishments inflicted in childhood.

People believe that as long as you don't cross the line into child maltreatment and punishment is controlled and does not cross the line into abuse, it will not have negative long term effect. Please click:

The researchers found about 6% of interviewed subjects had been punished beyond spanking sometimes, fairly often or very often.

They were likely to have a range of mood or personality disorders or likely to abuse drugs or alcohol.

The team stated that physical punishment may lead to chronic stress in children.

Comment:  Physical punishment has become the main area of focus of the world lesbian advisors seeking to destroy the authority of parents and promote child rights without responsibilities. See the report above.
