There have been several deaths in Papua New Guinea from hypothermia in the Saruwaged Ranges and Kokoda Track.
We will never forget the movie Titanic that showed people jumping from the sinking ship into the frozen water. They would have died within minutes.
We recall the fate of Jack and Rose who were on a life raft together. Jack hung his body over the side and was found by Rose to be dead in the morning from hypothermia.
