WORLD IN TRANSITION

Nothing in the world happens in a moment. The forces that shape the modern world have been moving for two thousand years.

We start with the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, rise of the Catholic church, growth of nation states, merchant economies, exploration of the New World, the Jewish merchant class in nation states and the rise of Islam.

We follow through to the industrial revolution, rise of empires seeking colonies, markets and raw materials, destruction of world wars, independence of colonies and the slow process of developing nations seeking higher prices for raw materials, reduction in protectionism and a share of world markkets.

Over the centuries, there have been major monopolies across the world. Faith has been dominated by the Catholic church and the rise of Islam.

The Anglican church dominated the British empire now suffering schism in the United States over the gay and lesbian issue.

A major player has been the United States determined to contain the rise of communism in Europe and Asia. The US opposed the USSR, communist China and Japan in concert with other nations, selectively rebuilding economies destroyed in World War 2.

The world dominance of the Soviet juggernaut declined. The economic power of Japan has waned with a massive rise in capitalism of China.

The United States is struggling with the need to contain extremist Moslem groups in the Middle East and maintain balance between Arab nations and Israel.

But there has been an explosion of population in the world and increasing world hunger. The global warming is having its effect.

There has been migration into Britain, United States and Australia. Problems come with migration from hostile nations and refugees arriving with old enmities and loyalties.

A faith monopoly of churches is waning. The Catholic church has ceased to have a faith monopoly starting with the Reformation and ending with revelations of paedophilia of clergy. Moslem extremism is on the rise.

In early times, decisions were made in new nations to separate church and state in response to the religious persecution the people faced in the old country.

But in Moslem nations the rise of Shariah Law has brought a new strident authority. Moslem churches are rising in power while Christian churches are declining. Christian churches unlike the Moslems never talk of insulting God.

The AIDS pandemic has opened flood gates to gay and lesbian rights with their effort to destroy of faith and family. God is wrong so we find out. Homosexualty is right and valid.

The world is in transition to anarchy. Two possible destructive forces are Moslem extremists and the world gays and lesbians. Hence the focus of AIDS Holistics.

Democracy is being destroyed by democracy. Let us hope that the forces of moderation prevail. It is not about rights of homosexuals and paedophiles.

It may be that the present moves of CHOGM on child brides is motivated by Commonwealth lesbians seeking access to female child lovers. They work through the United Nations and the Commonwealth.

Opposing such moves is about preventing the destruction of faith and family. Gays and lesbians want our kids. That necessitates weak and dysfunctional families.
