It grows mainly in the lowland valleys and yields the highest between October and March.

The high vitamin C helps boost the immune system and helps in the absorption of iron. Other substances strengthen the bones and supports digestion.

Vitamin C is an essential nutrient which cannot be made in the body. A daily supply is needed for good health.

Vitamin C is an immune booster as it helps in the production of white blood cells. These defend the body from invading bacteria and viruses.

Iron absorption is made more efficient by vitamin C. These cells help in the transport of oxygen around the body.

Pineapple contains manganese, important in bone health. It is needed only in small amounts. Pineapples are renowned for their high bromelain content.

This helps digestion and aids absorption. It soothes the digestive tract, helping to relieve heartburn, dyspepsia, constipation and diarrhoes.

Bromelain is a natural blood thinner. It prevents blood clots and reduces the risk of strokes. Frequent fliers can benefit from this.
