In the media today, there was a report of a man sentenced to 15 years prison for raping his daughter. He was HIV positive at the time. Bastard.
The word "penetrate" has been in use in the English language for centuries. Soldiers fought to penetrate the defences. The advice did not penetrate his thick skull.
The word now appears every week in the Papua New Guinea media with a vile meaning. Men are being taken to Court and sent to prison for penetrating women or girls with penis or finger.
What is happening in the world that women or girls are being sexually abused by father, step-father, grand-father, uncle, neighbour, pastor or teacher?
Mothers often notice bleeding of a small girl. Is this the result of a damaged vagina? Surely it is not caused by a broken hymen. There could be permanent physical and emotional damage.
Do men not stop and think of the repercussions if they are arrested? They lose everything including family, occupation and standing in the community.
Often we read that a man has abused his daughter and been reported to police by his wife. It is obvious that she has decided he has no place in the family.
When sentenced to prison, she may marry again. By the time he is released, the daughter will be married with children of her own. There will be no family visitors to prison.
There are men in the film industry who have lost everything to be sentenced to prison. My favourite performer was Rolf Harris.
What a fool to have been virtually molesting young women on the set. The "casting couch" has been part of Hollywood culture from the beginning. Sleep with the producer and you are hired.
Remember the gymnastics doctor sentenced to something like 350 years in prison for molesting several hundred young gymnastic girls. He will be old when he gets out. Did he think he could hide behind his profession?
The molesting of young girls has undoubtedly been happening for thousands of years. Now there are legal consequences. In the Middle East, young girls are being forced to marry adult men and many die of blood loss on their marriage night.
There may be a new legal consequence in Papua New Guinea with the hotel owner who trafficked several young Papuan girls to dance at his grand opening but forced to remain.
There is a dishonest breed of PNG business men who think they can lie, cheat and change the goal posts with impunity.
This fool thought he was safe with a sister married in Papua and two policemen to accompany him to negotiate with parents. One girl was reported to have eloped with a policeman. Is she still with him?
The Chimbu hotel owner thought young girls would stay and find relationships and he would blame them for staying. He wanted to take them home but they would not go. Haha.
There was an editorial last week about men seeking to be released from sexual crimes by claiming to be sick or the only breadwinner in the family. The editorial gave the opinion that this does not hold water.
Yet there was another report of a man who molested his daughter but was released on bond as he was her only carer. Was the young girl consulted? Why was she not taken into care? Will he molest her again?
