There are millions of stories in the naked city of Port Moresby. This has been one such story. It tells of a scam of a Papuan woman against an expatriate man.

Many expatriate men regardless of their qualifications and job status are basically stupid when it comes to young women. They believe anything they are told and never check. When in love, you accept whatever has been told.

My daughters told of an expatriate man who was once a neighbour who met and married a young women. She said she had no family except a brother. Each weekend the brother would come and stay with his sister when the expatriate man was on shift work.

There was a strong relationship between the expatriate and the brother who even appeared in a photo in the expatriate's laptop computer. They were family.

One day the expatriate came home early to find the brother in bed with his sister having sex. It took a while to work out, being a stupid expatriate, that the brother was the husband. There is a difficulty as the woman had given birth to a baby of the whiteman.

The young man and his wife had worked out a  scam to get free board and money. Find a stupid white man and rip him off for all he owns.

AIDS Holistics has a morbid fascination for the tricks that young women play on expatriate men. They would not dare try the same on a PNG man as all concerned may be killed by wantoks.

But a white man has no wantoks who would be prepared to fight for him. He is also basically stupid and does not understand culture. So he is fair game.

The silly expatriate should have met the family first. The deception would have been obvious right away. But many white men do not want to meet the family. So they get what they deserve.

This is a common trick. The wife leaves her husband in the village with the kids and goes to Port Moresby to find a white man. She pretends to be single or divorced. Every weekend she needs money to go to the village to see her kids.
