FIBRE KEEPS US MOVING AND LIVING LONG

Post Courier  6 February 2019

Fibre offers a host of health benefits. If you are not getting enough fibre, you are more prone to developing serious health conditions.

The World Health Organization found that those who consumed 25-29 gms of fibre each day were 15-30% less likely to die prematurely or have a cardiovascular condition.

Consuming foods rich in fibre correlated with 16-24% lower coronary heart disease, stroke,  type two diabetes and colon cancer.

We hear people tell us that we do not need carbohydrates and that we should not eat dairy food and that fruit has too much sugar.

Cutting out carbohydrates and grainy foods will leave us lacking in energy as well as fibre for a healthy gut and energizing vitamins.

Cutting out dairy products will leave us low on bone strengthening calcium and muscle building protein.

Cutting out fruit will leave us without disease fighting antioxidants and a range of vitamins.

Comment: These are keys to strong Positive Living.  Is this why many PNG people die in their 40s and 50s?
