HIV, ART AND MARIJUANA

Australian author late Bryce Courtenay wrote a book about his son dying of AIDS in 1993. This was back in the days before ART was freely available. Please click:

Damon Courtenay was infected through HIV infected blood from his haemophilia. He was in great pain and smoked marijuana to relieve the pain.

This hastened the decline of his immune system and gave him terrible nightmares about being killed. People with HIV on or not on ART must not smoke tobacco or marijuana.

This may explain why HIV infected smokers died early and suffered fearful nightmares. Linda had a nightmare every night about being killed by evil spirits. She secretly smoked when I was at work. Her family let her smoke thus hastening her death.
