KILLING OF MEN FOR SORCERY

In the Papua New Guinea Post Courier dated 16 April 2014, there was a report from the Madang province on the killing of two men accused of sorcery. This is the fourth killing of men for sorcery in the last 2 months in this country.

There has been silence from the women's care groups who focus on killing of women for sorcery. They see this as gender violence. Why do these groups not speak out on the killing of men?

Recently there was a report from a group complaining about the absence of arrests on the young woman killed last year by being burned at the stake in the highlands. There should be police action but there has not to this time.

Why is there no voice of women's groups complaining about the killing of men? We call on women's groups to speak out. Perhaps the women see this as not being politically correct. Perhaps the UN lesbians will cut funding.
