There is dangerous advice being given out by amateur advisors in the National AIDS Response in this country.
That is that an HIV infected person on antiretrovital (ARV) treatment can safely have sex with an HIV negative person without a condom.
That is foolish and dangerous advice that gives the false impression that a person on ARV has gone back to normal.
Once infected, always infected even though the viral count may be low. The virus is always in the hiding places ready to rebound if the sufferer defaults on ARV day by day.
If a person defaults, the virus may rebound from the hiding places and the viral count in the blood may be above zero. An HIV negative person may be infected.
The only option is for the HIV person to go for a viral load test at the hospital or clinic and follow the advice of the doctor.
Until cleared, a condom must always be used to protect the user of the other person.
