VALE KAL INDISTANGE - SCHOLAR AND GENTLEMAN

It was a poor way to start the week to read on the front page of The National that old friend Kal Indistange has been killed in a road accident in the highlands.

Kal worked for the National AIDS Council and was one officer working to lift the awareness of PNG people of the scourge of HIV/AIDS.

He was a strong supporter of Positive Living and always made the founder of AIDS Holistics welcome to his office.

Security guards were ordered by Australian gay and lesbian advisors not to let the founder into the building.

Kal advised security guards that the founder was always welcome to his office.

On few occasions the founder of AIDS Holistics came to the building, hysteria almost brought the National AIDS Council to a halt.

This was a warning to all that Positive Living was a banned message. But PNG staff worked out what was going on.

The New World Order of expatriate gays and lesbians was flexing its muscles.

Australian homosexuals told guards the founder broke into offices and stole the Positive Living message.

What a joke. That is as silly as the movie about the son of Poseidon accused of stealing the lightning bolt.

Kal spent a year in Australia to improve awareness of HIV/AIDS. But within the year, his contract was not renewed. More than a little corruption there.

Kal praised writings of AIDS Holistics but did not reveal that his primary profession was that of journalist.

He was a senior journalist at the University of Papua New Guinea at the time of his death.

Vale my friend. I love your spirit. You were one of this country's gentlemen.
