Nutritional highlights. Coconut flesh is highly nutritious and rich in fibre, vitamins C, E, B1, B3, B5 and B6 and minerals including iron, selenium

There was a report in The National recently advising the nutritional value of coconut water. It was high in vitamins and nutrients and was a good source of healthy living. Coconut milk is high in saturated fats.

I recall a TV report years ago that advised that coconut milk was high in saturated fat. The reason why the Tongans were grossly obese was that they cooked exclusively in coconut milk.

That is why heart disease was so common in Tonga. In recent years, they have dropped their focus on coconut milk that was high in fat content.

There was a Tongan member of royalty who used to occupy two seats on an aircraft.

Coconut in moderation is good for the health. Coconut milk is different from coconut water.
