WHY NO MENTION OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES?

Fruit and vegetables are not medicine but nutrients to build the strength of the immune system.

In every advertisement on CoVID 19, there are the usual points made - social distance, wash hands, cough into elbow and stay at home.

But there is never mention on recovery with a diet of fruit and vegetables. The media is starting to focus on eating and growing garden food. But nothing else.

Perhaps the reason is that people will misunderstand the intention. They may think that they will recover from the virus if they eat an apple and a carrot. There may be panic buying of fruit and vegetables in markets.

The immune system may take months or years to grow strong to support recovery. There needs to be a focus on fruit and vegetable diet over months or a year so that if CoVID 19 hits, the immune system will be strong.

Families need to start gardens or buy fruit every week. I go to Stop and Shop in Port Moresby and buy a plate of fruit in the morning and a plate of vegetables at night for the family - every day.

Eating an apple a day does wonders for constipation. With fruit and vegetables, faeces are smooth and painless if you know what I mean. But just one apple will not help us recover from CoVID 19.
