BBC News - Circumcision: Rwanda's quick cut to fight HIV

25 Jul 2011 – Circumcision in heterosexual males could reduce HIV by up
to 60%, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). In Rwanda, the
AIDS Holistics has explained the issue by stating there are two doors to be shut. Door 1 is shut by medical circumcision. Please click:
CIRCUMCISION AND HIV INFECTION
Door 2 is shut by hygiene and an absence of cuts, sores, rashes and herpes on the penis that allows entry of the virus.
The big worry is that circumcision will give men the idea that they are safe from HIV infection. This is not so.
There is also the need for promiscuous men to use condoms.
Circumcision only protects the giver not the recipient.
Door 2 will be wide open if the person becomes infected with various STIs that cause rashes on the penis and allow entry to the HIV.
We have long explained the presence of the mucous layer in the mouth, penis, anus and vagina.
In this layer are mucous and langerhan cells that hold and engulf the HIV.
The mucous and langerhans cells are on the inside of the foreskin.
The entry is blocked with circumcision and removal of the foreskin and the mucosa cells.
We shut the door by removing the door. There is no doorway but only a blank wall. Please click:

HOW A BANANA IS TO BE CIRCUMCISED
Many have had the foreskin cut like a banana being peeled. Parts of the foreskin hang down, revealing the mucous cells on the outside not the inside.
That means that these men and boys can still be infected by HIV as the foreskin has not been removed - only peeled back like a banana.
Sadly, women and girls have the mucous cells that engulf HIV, located in the vagina mainly around the cervix. They can not be circumcised.
