NAMAH CARRIED HIGH

The Australian rocking chair brigade is relishing the photo of Belden Namah being carried on a chair by villagers. But we have seen this many times in the media of other members of parliament. Please click:

‘I must become a king myself,’ says Belden Namah

Sir Michael Somare has been carried aloft many times according to the media photos. The PNG Attitude eccentric Colin Huggins is having a field day with his penchant for hateful name calling.

Who knows what will happen? Utula Samana was despised by Australians and called a communist revolutionary. By the time he died, he was revered by the people of Morobe province.

Every developing nation has its uppity natives who are despised by the former or current overlords.

The Australian Government wanted Somare out. Speaking metaphorically, better the devil you know.

There are more countries than Australia with an interest in PNG now. There is also China, USA and Russia.

The Chinese Government is not refurbishing the Highlands Highway just to help PNG citizens to get to market.

When Namah talked of being king, he used the same phrasing of  "always the bridesmaid - never the bride". His words may not be construed as any more than that. Who knows?
