Since 2013, the following schools or institutions have sought and been given support in Mastery Learning awareness. They have sought the handbook, workshops and /or classes for grade 8 students on a term basis.
All these schools will be visited again. It was a very busy year in 2014. Apologies to those schools to which we could not give follow-up support. There will be time for that this year. The seed has been planted.

2014 Ward Strip School - 2 1/2 terms
Warning: Do not be overexcited about this. It simply means that one grade in one year is learning how to write. All other grades miss out.
The day will have to come when all grades are officially learning Mastery Writing from grades 3 to 12. During my lessons at schools, teachers would use the time to sit outside. They did not learn how to teach Mastery Writing and never used the skills in their own classes. This is lazy PNG at its best.
But there are schools whose principals report that their English teachers are using the Mastery Writing exercises in their own classes. These include Tokarara Secondary and St Charles Luwanga Secondary. Great.

Students are presented with sequences of 3 sentences that have to be combined into one sentence with appropriate connectors and sentences changed to fit the changed structure.
