In the Papua New Guinea Post Courier 8 November 2011 is a report of HIV sufferers running out of ARV drugs in the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea.
We are told Dr Petronia Kaim that at least 10 people are on a drug holiday. She explained that there are certain concentrations of drugs in the body and a patient can go without a particular drug for 7 up to 21 days.

There was once a belief that ARV could be taken stop-start-stop-start. Several years ago, the Australian magazine Positive Living reported an experiment in the world that had to be stopped when those HIV sufferers in the experiment died.
