Over recent weeks, AIDS Holistics has addressed the Moslem family. But we have been presented with the opposite view of family that is dominated by men with women totally fearful of and subservient to men.
We have discussed the matter with Moslem families to be told that we must not stereotype the Moslem family. Belief in Allah means that we love fellow human beings. Moslems are not to murder other people.
Families can be beautiful loving units in which husband and father loves his wife and children and gives them peace and the opportunity to become devoted and loving Moslems. This sounds like a loving Christian family.
One Moslem pointed out that there are people who claim to speak for Islam but are from a mixture of faiths. This brings us to our original understanding that loving Moslem families exist in the world. As we learned, we must not stereotype people.
But there are Moslem extremists too.
