CONGRATULATIONS TO PNG CHURCHES

Churches of this country are congratulated on effort in taking ownership of the national HIV/AIDS response. For the last 10 years there has been a strong effort by foreign advisors to dominate the role of the churches with the threat of a loss of funding.

On World AIDS Day, Head of UNAIDS made a speech published in the media. His key message was the the people of PNG must not hide behind family and faith.

He was saying that they should surrender to the reality that gays and lesbians are taking over the world and that includes PNG. He is a gay paedophile. It is difficult to get good help these days.

There has been a determined effort to push condoms at the expense of family values. We are being told that more and more people are using condoms. That is why the level of infection is dropping.

But there is no mention of the work of churches in promoting family values - family rights and family responsibilities. That would help the infection level to drop too.

We hear that over the years the advisors of AusAID and the UN have sought to push the churches into promoting AIDS awareness with no focus on Scripture.

Admittedly there are pastors who have thought that the message had to be about Jesus, Jesus and Jesus. But there is considerable reference in Scripture on family and marriage.

Churches should take the approach of the Nigerian Government in response to threats to cut their funding by the British Prime Minister.

The spokesperson said that Britain can go to hell. Churches can say the same to the UN and AusAID. They can not cut the funding to all churches. United we stand.
