REPORT HAS STRUCK THE RIGHT NOTE

This report has struck a chord in Papua New Guinea. It is about the involvement of family women in AIDS counselling.

Many people have become tired of young women as counsellors with a pre-existing blame on men and a contempt for loving married women and families. We are too polite to mention that they are also lesbian and working to a non-family agenda of rights, rights and condoms.

Loving families never speak of rights. They focus on responsibilities. Rights flow from there.
