HIV/AIDS AWARENESS FOR NATIONAL TRAINING COUNCIL

The National Training Council of Papua New Guinea requires training institutions to conduct HIV/AIDS awareness for students on their training courses. AIDS Holistics has prepared one such program for a training institution in this country.

The problem is that the AIDS awareness message has started to die in Papua New Guinea. There is no longer interest in the message. This may be due to the ready availability of ARV drugs whereby people take the medicine and lose interest in following a healthy lifestyle.

The other major problem is that the AIDS message has been killed by overseas activists who want to divert the message into a focus on violence towards women and girls by men. There is not even a focus on condoms any more. The media is silent.

But the fact is that there would be thousands of people suffering from HIV/AIDS in PNG and have no access to ARV drugs, particularly in isolated rural areas. This means they will suffer from the traditional loss of weight, infection in the small intestine, damaged gut lining, dementia, brain damage and death.

AIDS Holistics is the only organization in this country putting out a message of Positive Living to the community. Please read below a draft program for training organizations. If there are any queries on this program, please phone Digicel: 73169571. We would be pleased to help your organization and answer any questions.
