SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY

Many women will suffer from husbands or boy friends who want to take the money they have earned. The man will claim that as the head of the house, he has the right to control all money. The reality is that he may often need money for sex and beer.

But women are learning the hard way that they have to be one jump ahead. If she sells fruit and vegetables in the market, she will tell the husband she earned only K20 when she really earned K120.  The money she holds is then hidden.

There have been reports of men who have gone to the market to demand money from the woman. He bashed her when she refused.

A wise woman will never show her pay slip from her work place. She can not give him her ATM card as she has lost it. The pay for the fortnight is not in her account when she stood in the queue to withdraw.

The truth is that she has not lost her card which has been carefully hidden. Her fortnight pay has been withdrawn and hidden.

A woman has to know that she can stop her ATM card at the bank and receive a new card, risking a bashing from the man who controls her life. Perhaps the card can be stopped after she moves out.

But there are still a million women in this country who live with loving husbands who care for them and share their income. These women were wise enough to choose a good man. Please click:
