Parents must be given the power to guide and control their children according to executive director of Juvenile Justice Services Paul Wagun.
Wagun told The National that children had rights in the United Nations Convention of Children but parents have no rights.
He said that mothers and fathers have to be given powers to censor the conduct of their children, friends and mobile phones.
He said that right now parents do not have these powers under the United Nations Convention. Parents will be helpless to control and guide their children.
Comment: I think people are reading our blog. There has been a slow process in the media of taking up the issues raised on this blog, particularly domestic violence of women against men. It is now being seen as involving men and women as victims.
Paul Wagun is on the right track but must realize that parents have authority over their children in terms of Scripture. Honour thy father and thy mother.
