DEMOCRACY AND OBE

Outcome Based Education can be a useful tool for dictatorships who turn the process into Outcome Based Propaganda. The outcome is a message of the purity and goodness of the ruling regime. History is rewritten with teachers and students repeating the party line.

The Nazi message was that the regime would last 1000 years. It was to be a utopian society for blond haired and blue eyed Aryans and their full breasted mates. The Jews, Slavs and Gipsies were to be removed.

Other regimes today allow no freedom of expression to teachers and students. That is the Outcome Based Propaganda that enslaves the people.

But democracies have a more liberal view of OBE and this can become their downfall. OBE in democracies is a system that promotes basic skills that prepare students for living and contributing to society.

There is another problem in democracies by which the democratic process is monopolized by disruptive groups in the name of democracy. They infiltrate the education process.

We see the problem in the USA with the gay and lesbian agenda, particularly in Massachusetts. The gay and lesbian message is pushed on students in high schools in the name of tolerance for oppressed minorities. We hear of the considerable suicide of gay, lesbian and transsexual children.

The aim of the Nazi message was to recruit and motivate children to be supporters of the Nazi regime. An aim of the gay and lesbian agenda is to recruit children to be gay or lesbian. It is all marketed in the name of tolerance for minorities.

We hear of suicides among gay, lesbian and bisexual children in Massachusetts. No mention is made of heterosexual children killing themselves. It may well all be fake just like the German Aryan supremacy.

This is an in-country dictatorship. The children in Massachusetts may be afraid of lower marks from gay and lesbian teachers if they disagree with the message.

Any parents who disagree with children being taught gay and lesbian values immediately becomes branded by the school as homophobic. Shades of Nazi Germany.

The problem with Outcome Based Education is that it was seen as a tool of dictatorship.The Soviet Union employed the strategy in the 1950s to 1970s to promote schools of mathematics and science to be in the forefront of scientific advance.

But OBE is merely a strategy of making education accountable and effective. It can be employed by both dictatorships and democracies. It can be used and misused.

Papua New Guinea is mainly concerned with teaching children to lift standards of literacy and numeracy -hardly the build-up to dictatorship.
