It cites those countries that treat women well and those that abuse and oppress women. The link is made between economic development, colonial heritage and economic prosperity.
Those countries where women are oppressed and degraded are usually African countries and economically poor. It is a chicken and egg situation.
The women in many poor countries are out of reach. They can never be helped by hordes of UN lesbians with a non-family, anti-men and anti-faith approach. They cannot help the Moslem women by showing themselves to be hostile to men either in Papua New Guinea or Yemen.
They have to have studied the Koran and appreciate the teachings of Islam. But the UN lesbians may well be anti-faith of all kinds. Is there a UN Department of Islamic Studies? How many Moslems are employed by the United Nations on women's rights?
They need to promote the value of the Moslem family. There must be millions of loving Moslem families in the world that strike a balance between the Koran and modern living.
But UN women will make the error of wanting to make the Moslem women as free as the women in the west. They will want to make them sexually free.
Picture the UNAIDS gay man who spoke to the Christian clergy in Port Moresby recently going to Africa to tell the Moslem clerics that all men and women are free to have sex with whomever they like. He comes out of gaol in 20 years. He is lucky he lives in peaceful Papua New Guinea.

If the only avenue for women is to live in village poverty, carry water and look after goats, they will be oppressed.
