POST COURIER GETTING IT RIGHT

The Post Courier, daily newspaper of Papua New Guinea is starting to build up its circulation as the result of the family approach of the Weekend Courier and NewAgeWoman. Over the years, the Post Courier has been as cold as a fish with dark print and little human interest, particularly in relation to family living.

But the warmth has come in recent times through the Weekend Courier and NewAgeWoman. It gives a good feeling to read these papers as there is a balanced focus on men and women. Men have written articles on marriage relationships.

NewAgeWoman has a woman as an editor and this makes all the difference. She has a sense of humour and sees the funny side of marriage as well as the sadness. There is balance in focus on men and women being a success through commitment and hard work.

It would be good if the warmth of these two newspapers was distributed to the Post Courier during the week. Family issues are touched upon during the week but only if an announcement is made from the community.
