TEACHERS NEVER LEARNED THE BASICS

Outcome Based Education and Mastery Learning focuses on basics of spelling, grammar, arithmetic and synthesis into letters, books, assignments, reports and projects.

Many teachers across the world are products of education in the 1960s where all these basics were foolishly removed. Students were to learn to read by reading. They were to learn to write by writing.

Does this mean that pilots learned to fly by flying? Soldiers learned to fight by fighting? Accountants were to learn to account by accounting?

Students were not supposed to memorize any more. They were not to chant in class. So many students no longer recall their multiplication tables.

So these teachers taught young students in the 1970s to read by reading and write by writing. The standard dropped dramatically. The young students are teachers of today. They scream and moan at being involved with Outcome Based Education and Mastery Learning.
