These are suggested to be the key guidelines to the operation of Mastery Learning in Papua New Guinea schools and other schools in the world.
Mastery Learning is the key to Outcome Based Education and Training.
Mastery Learning is based on Bloom's Taxonomies of Educational Objectives.
Mastery sequences are prepared by a design team to be official documents.
Mastery Learning sequences are for all teachers in all grades of all schools.
Sequences are to be comprehensive, valid and reliable instruments of learning.
Teachers may make input on sequences on the basis of insight and research.
Mastery Learning is the basis of all formative and summative assessment.
Sequences give continuity and quality to teachers in student-friendly learning.
Sequences extend from basic to advanced knowledge and skills in all subjects.
The major problem in Outcome Based Education in Papua New Guinea and other countries is that there was never support given to struggling teachers in provision of mastery activities.
